GO PATRIOTIC CHIC

From tied-n-dyed T-shirts to funky hair-dos, options abound for patriotic fashionsitas who want to look striking this Independence Day
Ws ant to flaunt your patriotic spirit while looking super chic?
Think beyond tricoloured bangles and bindis if you want to leap ahead of the fashion curve. We put together some super cool ideas to sport the tricolour while maintaining its sanctity.
Tricolour glam Go for designer outfits that incorporate all the three colours. “A sari, a dress or a suit in tricolour prints, embroidery or applique work is the simplest way to stand out,“ says designer Gautam Gupta.
Colour block Designer Masaba Gupta is all for colour blocking. “You can wear a white dress, and pair it up with green footwear and a saffron bag.“ A green cropped pant teamed with a saffron top also looks cool. If traditional is your thing, wear a silk kurta in saffron and green and accentuate it with a white belt.
Funky hair-dos Go for tricolour corsages, hair beading or streaking. “You can also use stickon crystals in saffron, white and green to perk up your hair-style in a jiffy,“ says make-up artist Manju Rawat. You can also experiment with a tricolour bandana .
Say it with make-up Use tricolour eyeliner to jazz up your eyes. “Draw three thick lines close to your lashes. Green eye shadow, white eye-liner and saffron lip colour will also do the trick,“ says make-up artist Ashmeen Munjaal. Fun tattoos Tattoos are all the rage on Independence day. And it's not just the flag that you can go for. “You can get a heart, a butterfly or a flower made in tricolour,“ suggests Munjaal. The daring ones can even go for triclour lip tattoos.
