Actor Abhishek Bachchan reveals his penchant for hardcore maar-dhaad on screen

Actor Abhishek Bachchan's always keen to experiment, but for now the Bachchan seems to
be in a mood to take a break from the experimenting phase to gear up for some hardcore action on screen. He packed in quite a punch with his cop act in Dum Maaro Dum, and now is keen to take up the action-o-meter several bars higher in his forthcoming films.
"I've always been a diehard action fan… the car chases, the fight sequences and now doing them on the big screen is obviously exciting," says the actor referring to his high-octane action sequences in Players. The actor also admits that he enjoys doing several of the stunts himself. "Today, the action is far more safer than it was a couple of years back, so I see no reason why we won't want to do the stunts ourselves."
As for letting the other genres take a backseat, he's quick to clarify that it's a co-incidence that most of the films he's done off late or is shooting for at present are action-oriented. "But for me the script and the story decides whether I will do the film or not and not the genre. That's never been the motivation, but yes action is a genre that I really enjoy," he explains.
Incidentally, the actor already has three hit sequels in his pockets, so will Players have a sequel too? "Who knows what's next? I'm the king of sequels!" he laughs. "But about the others, I am excited about Dhoom 3 and am looking forward to Dostana 2 too," he says. And Sarkar 3? "That you'll have to ask Ramu (director Ram Gopal Varma). I have no clue about that one. Sarkar and Sarkar Raj were very successful, but it's Ramu's call if he wants to take the story forward. My character, Shankar Nagre, dies in the end of the second one, but well, you never know."
As for Dhoom 3, he'll be seen facing Aamir Khan. "First John (Abraham), then Duggu (Hrithik Roshan) and now Aamir. The stakes are getting higher and it's getting interesting. But Jai and Ali (his and Uday Chopra's characters) are constants. It's impossible to imagine Dhoom without their exciting chemistry. Jai is an intelligent cop and no matter how smart the heist specialist is, he'll outsmart him," he says.
