Singer Liam Payne reportedly made a sizeable donation to his girlfriend Cheryl Cole's charity as a gift for her 33rd birthday .
According to a source, Cheryl was “taken aback“ by the One Direction singer.
“Cheryl was taken aback by the gesture. She genuinely wasn't expecting it and was truly touched. It was an easy choice for Liam, he knew it was the right thing to do,“ a source told a UK newspaper. Payne had also reportedly purchased a diamond ring for Cheryl's birthday . The couple started dating eight months ago. However, they have to wait for their wedding till the time Cheryl's divorce from Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini is finalised as they are locked in a battle over finances.
