The legendary comic franchise Archies will now have an entire digest dedicated to the protagonists and their Bollywood connect in India.

Don't be surprised if Archie, Betty, Veronica and the rest of the gang dress up in Indian clothes as this year the publishers have decided to leave the upscale Riverdale neighbourhood to go to India. This is a smart move by the publishers considering how popular their recently introduced gay character Kevin Keller has become. Also, Indian American Raj Patel's character which was introduced four years ago is now being put to good use with the gang planning their visit to the country. The double digest number nine, already out on the stands sees Archie, Betty, Veronica, Jughead and Reggie, take a flight to Mumbai. Double digest ten will also see the gang in India. Conforming this, ArchiesComics recently tweeted, "Archie and the gang are currently visiting India in World of Archie #9 and #10! Which country should their travels take them to next?" In the ninth digest titled Love Me Baby, Mumbai, Raj Patel dreams of being a film director and his movie Love Hate Triangle on Itube catches the attention of Kunal Desai, who is one of the biggest producers in Bollywood. Bollywood seems to be the flavour of the season as the entire premise revolves around films and Mumbai. And while they are at it, Jughead, the gluttonous one, has samosas and vindaloo instead of the customary pizza. Archie, the most confused of the lot, wears a Kurta and Betty and Veronica drape a saree and sport the traditional lehengas too. A source reveals, "Famous Bollywood numbers like Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan and Purani Jeans are also a part of the story where the protagonist practices their dance steps on these songs. While this is what happens in Part 1 in Mumbai, a lot of other episodes centered around other Indian cities are also being planned." And that's not all, Archie also plans to introduce an Indian character, a girl when they go back to Riverdale."
