Actor Ranbir Kapoor features on his football idol Lionel Messi official site, whom he had flown down to meet in Barcelona

It is a well-known fact that actor Ranbir Kapoor is a huge football fanatic and along with being a huge fan of the sport, plays it as well. But to land on his idol's official site is a privilege that a fan would cherish, including Ranbir. 

The actor was spotted talking to the press in Spain and was even featured on the official page of Barcelona FC. A video grab has been featured of the actor posing with Barcelona player Gerard Pique, who is also Latina hottie, Shakira's boyfriend. 

It's public knowledge how the young actor was super kicked about the friendly match to be played between Venezuela and Argentina in Kolkata as his favourite player, Lionel Messi was flying down to India for the same. He had even booked tickets for the match, but had to cancel his plans last minute when he couldn't wrap his shooting commitments on time. 

A heartbroken Ranbir then decided to take a trip to Spain. What more, it was an invitation that came from none other than Messi himself and he wouldn't let go of the opportunity. 

When in Spain, Ranbir went to Ciutat Esportiva, where he was photographed with players and coaches, including Leo Messi and Josep Guardiola. Talking about it, Ranbir says, "I would have loved to catch the match in Kolkata, but couldn't make it, since I was shooting for Barfee. I was very excited to have received an invitation to meet Messi at Barcelona. When I met him, we discussed the sport at length. I had a great time in Barcelona and I have returned with a personally autographed cap, something I will treasure for a long time to come", he says grinning like a child.

While addressing the media Ranbir said, "I have always been a Barca fan because of the way they play football. It is like a religion, they play well and are also well organised. Messi is the best player in the world. Xavi, Puyol, and Pique too are all such good footballers."
