Ash, who is a regular at Cannes, is apparently going to make her presence felt this year as well. If she goes, this will be her first visit to the film festival post motherhood. However, what’s interesting is that Madhur who launched his film, Heroine last year with Aishwarya as the lead, is rumoured to be heading to the French Riviera once again. It maybe recalled that his film with Ash in the lead got stalled following Ash’s announcement of her, pregnancy. Actor Kareena Kapoor, who apparently was said to be the ‘original choice’ for the film, then took over the role that was partly shot by Ash. Says a source, “Madhur wants to showcase Heroine at Cannes this year, and it seems that Kareena too is keen to head there. She thinks this is one of the best films of her career and wants to go that extra mile.” The source adds that actorSonam Kapoor, who created quite a stir with her Audrey Hepburn-inspired gown, will be heading to Cannes, this year too. “Sonam will be there to represent the cosmetic brand she endorses,” she adds. Sultry actor Bipasha Basu too may make a red-carpet appearance at Cannes this time. “In 2007, Bipasha Basu and John Abraham made an appearance at the festival to promote their film, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal. This year too, Bipasha is scheduled to fly to Cannes for her Hollywood film, Singularity.” She’ll be accompanied by her filmmaker Roland Joffe, but it is unclear whether her Hollywood co-star Josh Hartnett will be joining her there. Buzz is other actors who are France bound are Arjun Rampal and Mallika Sherawat. Filmmaker Dibaker Banerjee’s Shanghai is also reportedly being showcased there though it is still not confirmed if actors Abhay Deol and Emraan Hashmi will attend. |
