‘Life is bigger’
...says model-turned-actor Nargis Fakhri in a freewheeling chat about life in tinsel town and the rumoured man in her life – Uday Chopra

Actor Nargis Fakhri is back from a family holiday in New York, and she has already gotten herself busy with walking the ramp, supporting environmental initiatives and more. The Rockstar actor confesses, “My life is different now. It feels much bigger. I was a model before, but now I get to choose the designer that I want to walk the ramp for.”
Hailing DNA’s initiatives – Eco Ganesha and Juhu Beach Clean Up — to protect the environment, the actor says, “I totally support DNA’s awareness programme. On Sunday, as soon as I stepped onto Juhu beach, it was so exciting to see so many volunteers, most of them kids, getting their hands dirty and cleaning up the coast after visarjan. We need to keep the environment that we live in clean. I learnt that from my mom who never let me spit chewing gum or throw wrappers on the street; she used to get us to store them in our pocket until we could find a trash can. These little things we learn, define our attitude towards our environment.”
Ask her about her next film after Rockstar, and the actor gets tight-lipped, “I have a couple of projects in the pipeline, but I can’t talk about them yet.” After a debut opposite Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor, what's next on her wish list? “I would love to work with both Salman and Shah Rukh Khan. But at the end of the day, it has to be a good script and a good person, that’s what's more important to me.” The actor isn't limiting herself to the big screen alone and is open to opportunities on TV. She explains, “Right now, I’m focussed on my new film projects, but I would love to do something that involves my love for eating and travelling.” What about reality TV shows? “Personally, I don’t like to judge, but it’s fine if it involves constructive criticism. Actually, it would be nice to be a part of such projects,” she adds.
As we steer her towards her brush with paparazzi when they spotted her with actor Uday Chopra at a suburban theater, she quips, “It was simply insane. I simply don’t know what else to say about the whole thing.”
