Recognition for children’s author



    On Thursday, the Padma Binani Foundation, a nonprofit, cultural organisation promoted by India’s eminent Binani family announced its sixth Vatsalya Award. Meena Kakodkar from Goa received the award for her contribution in children’s literature. Padma Binani, chairperson of the foundation envisioned the need for creating an inspirational voice for children and promoted a dedicated wing for them called ‘Vatsalya’. She has also written several books for children and on philosophy. At the event, her latest book, Mahabharat A to Z was also unveiled. Dilip Walse-Patil, Speaker, Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha, MLA Raj K Purohit, Braj Binani, Chairman – Braj Binani Group, Kalpana Binani and Shradha Binani were present for the occasion.
