Dubbing gives Amrita Rao sleepless nights
Actress Amrita Rao recently spent some sleepless nights over dubbing for a scene in Prakash Jha’s next, Satyagraha. Interestingly, Amrita acted in the scene — she says it’s one of the most difficult scenes in the film — with such conviction that it was approved in a single take. But recreating the same emotion all over again, in a cold dubbing studio, posed a bigger challenge. Though Jha liked Amrita’s dubbing, the actress felt she had not given it her 100 per cent. She tried to convince sound recordist Rakesh Ranjan for a retake, but in vain. It looked like Jha wouldn’t approve of it.
Amrita, after spending two sleepless nights, finally texted the filmmaker at 6 am on the third day. She requested for another chance to dub the scene and, to her immense relief, he immediately agreed. Jha even assured that he would personally help her with it.
