Johnny Depp expressed some sweet gratitude toward his
wife, Amber Heard for “putting up with” him, as he accepted the Desert
Palm Achievement Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival
on Saturday, January 2. “I also have to thank my wife Amber for putting
up with me, for living with all these characters, which can’t be easy,”
he said in a nod to his many colourful movie roles. “It’s hard for me —
it’s got to be hard for her.” The couple tied the knot in two ceremonies
— one at home in Los Angeles, and one in a beautiful beach ceremony in
the Bahamas — last February after dating for four years. Depp, 52, and
Heard, 29, initially met on the set of The Rum Diary in 2009, though
they didn’t officially step out together until two years later.
