Contrary to rumours of the actor not acting in his maiden Marathi venture as a producer, Riteish Deshmukh confirms that he will be starring in it
Actor Riteish Deshmukh who will soon be producing his first Marathi film is expected to begin work on it by early next year. And contrary to buzz that he won't be acting in it, the actor has confirmed that he will in fact be starring in it as well. This will also mark his debut as an actor in Marathi films.
"We will begin work on it only early next year, as I'm too tied up with my Bollywood films for now and haven't had the time to work on my first production. I haven't locked on a script as yet and we're yet to finalise between the three scripts that we have shortlisted," says Riteish, who is currently busy shooting for Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya with rumoured girlfriend Genelia D'Souza. "Post Tere…, we begin work on the sequel of Kya Kool Hain Hum and then complete Housefull 2. So it's only after these films that I will be able to concentrate on my film's production," he adds.
Though the actor says that he can't divulge the genre for now, he does admit that the film will star him. "I've wanted to do a Marathi film for quite a while now, so I thought why not do it with your own film." The actor however adds that he has no plans of turning director anytime soon.
There's also speculation that several of his Bollywood friends are expected to make cameo appearances in his maiden venture, a la Om Shanti Om, but Riteish prefers to remain tightlipped about it. "It's too early to talk about it. Let the film begin first," he adds.
