ALL IS WELL BETWEEN THE SANJAYS

After a much-publicised fall out, Sanjay Dutt reconciled with his old friend Sanjay Gupta at Big B’s birthday bash

They have worked together in over half-a-dozen films including Kaante (2002), Zinda (2006) and Shootout At Lokhandwala (2007) among others. But roughly five years ago, actor Sanjay Dutt and director-producer Sanjay Gupta had a major fall out (see box). At that time, the two had accepted that they had “moved on” in life and it seemed as though there was no scope for reconciliation.
But on October 11, at Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday bash at Film City, the two old friends decided to put all the fights behind them.
“Gupta, who was at the party with his wife, Anuradha, was chatting with John Abraham when he heard someone call his name. He turned around and saw Sanjay and his wife, Manyata, walking towards him,” says a guest, who witnessed the reunion at the party.
“They hugged and seemed so thrilled to see each other after so many years. Baba asked Gupta to forget whatever had happened between them and then they both went on to inquire about each other’s children. Before parting, Baba asked Gupta if he was still using his old mobile phone number, so that he could call him later.”
After exchanging pleasantries, their wives also met each other warmly.

While Dutt remained unavailable for a comment, Gupta responded to our query, saying, “At this point, it’s too personal a matter to talk about.”
