Ram Leela

Dandiya Dhoom Machi Dhoom
With the festive spirit all round, it is not surprising that TV has also tuned into celebratory mode. While some channels have launched new shows revolving around the festival like the musical Ram Leela, or a special show Dandiya Dhoom Machi Dhoom, others like Honge Juda Na Hum, Devon Ka Dev Mahadev and Niyati have incorporated it in a special episode. Not to be left behind, movie channels like Zee Cinema are showing films that are about good triumphing over evil.
Ram Leela that began last Sunday on Life Ok is a contemporary take on Ramayan encapsulated in five episodes of one hour each with Ajay Devgn as the sutradhar. Then there’s the mythological Devon Ka Dev Mahadev in which viewers will see Adi Shakti incarnated as Durga and slaying the demon Mahisasur. In another show Niyati, aired on Sahara One, little kids will be performing a Ramleela skit.
Besides the mythological representations, channels are also showcasing dandiya in their shows. Star Plus is organising a special event Dandiya Dhoom Machi Dhoom where the stars of their leading shows will perform dandiya in unconventional forms with Falguni Pathak. The dandiya queen will also be seen in a Sony show Honge Juda Na Hum wherein there will be an important twist to the story.
Zee Cinema is celebrating with a 10-day movie festival showcasing the biggest villains of hindi cinema with the theme good triumphs over evil. The festival ends today with the screening of Ram Lakhan.
