With the amount of time Jonty Rhodes spends in India, it’s not surprising that the country featured high on the former South African cricketer’s list while scouting for locations for his wedding. Jonty, the fielding coach for the Mumbai IPL team, has explored much of the country with photographer fiancée Caroline McClelland. Both
were toying with the idea of a wedding in India, but the excessive paperwork for the process put them off.
“Getting married in India is quite a mission,” says Jonty, adding, “There is a lot of paperwork required for a non-Indian. It’s something we definitely looked at, but it was not feasible for us. I am sure with so many weddings happening in India, I wouldn’t have got a venue either.”
