One of these lucky girls will represent India at the Miss Universe pageant this November

    Of the hundreds of girls who auditioned for the finals of Miss Diva 2013 in Mumbai, 14 gorgeous contestants from across India were chosen after two rounds of rigorous competition and debate. Earlier titled Indian Diva 2013, the pageant has been to Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh and Kolkata to scout for divas who can represent India at the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow this November. Finalists from each city were fast-tracked to the final round of auditions, held at the Westin Mumbai Garden City.
    The day kick-started with the swimwear round, where the girls sported chic bikinis and confident smiles. The next round was a tough one as the judges questioned the contestants about what makes them worthy of representing India. Trishla Chandola (23), one of the finalists, has lost over 40 kg in the past two years, and said that hard work will take her places. Another finalist Sushrii Shreya Mishraa (22) said that while her mom is a cop and dad an army person, she has always been inclined towards glamour. She said, “Representing India at the Miss Universe pageant is every girl’s dream. I hope to fulfill mine soon.” Jhataleka Malhotra (19), one of the top 5 finalists of the Fresh Face contest, also made the cut.
    Marc Robinson, creative director, Miss India Organization, said, “The finalists selected for Miss Diva 2013 represent a great combination of drop-dead diva looks, poise and confidence, which goes well for the pageant. May the best girl win.” These finalists will now be trained and groomed by top-notch experts from the industry.
