How the Nawab controlled the crowds

Saif Ali Khan proved his mettle as Nawab during the shoot of his forthcoming film, Bullet Raja, which happened mostly in real locations. In fact, some of the toughest sequences were shot in Hazratganj in Lucknow — one of the most populated areas in the city. Even as the crowds went berserk, making it difficult for the unit to shoot, the actor took it upon himself to ensure that tempers didn’t fly high. He would crack jokes, diffuse tension between unit members and the crowds, and generally played big brother to the cast and the crew, enabling them to shoot smoothly.

Katie getting close to Luke Kirby

Katie Holmes is spending a lot of time with her Mania Days co-star Luke Kirby. The 34-year-old Batman Begins star, who last year divorced Tom Cruise, the father of her daughter Suri, has been growing close to Kirby. “Katie and Luke are getting closer with every day they spend together — and at the moment, with the filming schedule so tight, that’s nearly seven days a week,” a source said. “The chemistry between them is tangible but that’s all because since their break in filming in July, Katie and Luke have stayed in constant contact,” the source added. Kirby, 35, is rumoured to have split from his long-term girlfriend Andrea Sarubbi and Holmes is reportedly helping him get through the tough time. PTI

Chris Brown’s seizure blamed on ‘extreme emotional stress’

Chris Brown’s nonepileptic seizure (NES) at a Hollywood recording studio has been blamed on his intense fatigue and anxiety related to his recent hit and run legal troubles.
A spokesperson for the 24-year-old R ‘n’ B star told an American magazine that the singer is on the mend. The singer’s representative said that Brown’s doctor tended to him and attributed the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity. Julia Roberts taunted half-sis over weight issues

Julia Roberts’ half-sister, Nancy Motes, who is the daughter of the star’s mum Betty Lou and step dad Michael Motes, has revealed that the actress used to regularly taunt her about her weight problems. Motes told a New York daily that she felt incredibly hurt and sad when her sibling used to make sure that she never forgot about her weight. Motes, who once weighed in at almost 300 pounds, said that the years of mental torment pushed her to have a gastric bypass surgery in June 2010 and she has now slimmed down to 155 pounds. The production assistant on the hit show Glee is now hoping for reconciliation with the actress. Motes asserted that they are now both trying to change their opinions of each other and it’s a work in progress. ANI

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole reportedly fears that her relationship with dancer boyfriend Tre Holloway is in danger.
The 30-year-old Fight for This Love singer is busy recording a new album in the UK while her boyfriend is working in Los Angeles and the long distance relationship is said to be taking a toll on their romance, reported a Hollywood website. “When it’s evening for Cheryl it’s morning for Tre and he’s rushing to the dance studio so they’re constantly trying to play catch up,” a source said. “She wants to be in a relationship where she feels cherished and secure, instead of fearing it is fizzling out. He says it sometimes feels as though he’s waiting for her to end it. She doesn’t know how to fix this and to bring them back together. She keeps asking her friends, ‘Am I being too needy?’” the source added. To add to the singer’s anxiety, Holloway reportedly insists on staying in LA where he is said to be getting more work.

After a bar dancer, Khushi to play priest’s daughter

After making life hell for Simar and Roli — the main female characters in Sasural Simar Ka (SSK) — as bar-dancer Khushi, actress Jyotsna Chandola had quit the show for better opportunities. She has now landed a positive role — a priest’s daughter. She will play Bhakti, the protagonist in Haunted Nights, after the show is revamped.
The show, which was episodic, has been revamped into a daily soap. Says Jyotsna without divulging much about her new role, “The makers of SSK weren’t clear about my track and so, I quit. I wanted to take up a positive role after playing an out-and-out negative character. Fortunately, I haven’t been typecast, which is common on the tube. I feel lucky to have been able to break the trend.”
