The film ready since 2009 might never get a proper release, as apparently actor Preity Zinta has refused to promote the film at all
Actor Shiney Ahuja's film Har Pall that has been ready since 2009 might never see the light of the day. Sources say that though the film is ready, there's absolutely no hope of the film getting a proper national release asco-actor Preity Zinta might not be available for the promotions of the film along with Shiney. The film hit a road-block ever since Shiney was accused of raping his maid in the same year (2009). The promotional activities of the film were about to begin, when Shiney was taken into custody.
"Preity is very busy with her own production and she doesn't have time for the promotion of the movie. At this point of time she is more bothered about her own film because she has invested a lot of money and emotions in it," says one of her friends.
National award-winning director Jahnu Barua — who has directed the film — had a meeting with Preity according to sources, but the actor couldn't figure out dates for them for the promotions, sources say.
"The film is anyway two years old and was sent into cans the moment the accusations against Shiney broke out. It would have been a disaster if the movie had been released during that time. There can be something initiated at this point of time, but if the lead heroine is not available for promotions along with the hero, there is no point in releasing the film. Also, at this point of time, Preity is the main protagonist in the film and the film could only be sold on Preity's brand value," says a source.
Sources say that Shiney still faces hesitation from part of B-Town, ever since he was convicted and given a seven-year jail term for raping his maid. Apparently, there are some of his co-stars, who still refuse to promote films with him, say insiders. Sources also say, that apparently, there have been instances where some of his co-stars have even refused to get pictures clicked with Shiney even during ongoing promotions.
"He is facing the same kind of problems from some of the actors who don't want to act with him. Let's hope that Preity doesn't fall into the same category," the source quips.
