Tinsel town stars had a blast during the Celebrity Cricket League matches in Chennai and Pune

Day 1: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Kalyan Jewellers CCL Powered by Parle 20:20 played out at the historic Chepauk Stadium. The evening started with Karnataka Bulldozers clashing with their counterparts from Kerala — the Kerala Strikers. The Karnataka team was off to a solid start, thanks to a decent partnership between its openers Rajeev and Pradeep. While Rajeev’s 35-ball 50 was the highlight of the innings, a late-order contribution by K Karthik helped the team get to 169 in 20 overs. However, the Kerala Strikers, with useful contribution from Rajeev Pillai and Madan Mohan, who made a 40-ball 69, reached the target in the last over.
The second match of the evening saw the Chennai Rhinos taking on the Bengal Tigers. The Chennai team started well, fielding nicely and hitting the stumps on a regular basis. This resulted in three run-outs and other than Jisshu, no one was able to make a mark and Bengal Tigers finished off on 106. Chennai Rhinos’ batsmen — Vikraanth and Vishnu — got the crowd and cheerleaders on their feet with a flurry of boundaries. While the former finished with a half century, Vishnu made 43 and the home team won with almost nine overs to spare. Cheering them were Shruti Haasan, who was seen bonding with Kajal Aggarwal and Priyamani. Post the matches, the stars headed to the CCL Glam Nights, sponsored by Karbonn Smart, and had a blast.
    — Srinivasa Ramanujam DAY 2: Maharashtra Cricket Association International Stadium, Gahunje, Pune The first match on Day 2 saw Telugu Warriors and Bhojpuri Dabanggs battling it out on the field. The Warriors pelted bound
aries and sixes in the match.
Ramcharan
Teja made an unbeaten 74 in 30
balls. The team piled up 188 in the first innings with the fall of three wickets. Misfielding and the dropping of catches weakened the Bhojpuri Dabanggs’s game in the beginning. Manoj Tiwari, team captain and the opening batsman, who was in form in the earlier matches, scored no runs. PL Yadav, A Sharma, U Tiwary and Vikrant Singh did not score any runs either. A Ojha tried to pull the game ahead with magnificent shots. However, all players got out in just 89 runs. Teja was declared the Man of the Match. Rinku Ghosh and Priyamani, the brand ambassadors of the teams, were present to boost the morale of the players.
The second match between Veer Marathi and Mumbai Heroes would have been a closely contested one if Team Mumbai’s batting line-up had fared better. The Veer Marathis set a comfortable target of 146 with Riteish Deshmukh, team captain, scoring 48 in 31 balls. SR Mooley, who has a total of 227 runs, the highest by any player in CCL, did not perform well. Limaye and Biddvai’s partnership of 54 runs was a relief to the team. Jackky Bhagnani performed live to Psy’s Gangnam Style for the crowd during the break. Post this, Veer Marathis took to bowling and some tight fielding. Mumbai Heroes tried to chase their score of 146, with good shots by Sunny Singh and Aftab Shivdasani, but in vain. The team was all out in 79 runs. Riteish was declared the Man of the Match. Genelia D
Souza, Karishma Tanna, Ashish Chowdhary,
Nargis Fakhri
and others were cheering for the teams.
