The two one-time rivals are the latest in a long string of B-Towners to have buried their decade-old hatchet that goes back to the time when they were the reigning queens in Bollywood.
According to Bolly lore, both Karisma and Raveena had been at loggerheads for over a decade now and the alleged rivalry stemmed from the competition the two gave each other at the BO. There was also buzz in the ‘90s that the two were apparently involved in a catfight over actor Ajay Devgn. Back then, it was also said that the two went to great lengths to avoid each other completely and it was this takkar that made them bitter professional rivals too. So, it came as quite a shocker for the onlookers to see the two actors kiss and make up recently when they bumped into each other at a do hosted by Nita and Mukesh Ambani. In fact, the two were rather cordial to each other and spent several minutes chatting away. “The two looked rather comfortable in each other’s presence. Raveena was with hubby Anil Thadani, and the three talked for quite a long time. In fact, Raveena even wished Karisma all the best for her upcoming film,” said an onlooker.
But according to sources, this isn’t the first time that the two met socially. An insider reveals that the two have been bumping into each other quite often as their kids go to the same school. “They have been quite cordial to each other. Guess, over the years, each of them has moved on in life and it was just futile holding on to old grudges,” the insider reveals.
Meanwhile, it’s not just Karisma that Raveena has been bonding closely with. The actor has also been strengthening her ties with actor Shilpa Shetty-Kundra. The two actors, who had put aside their differences, more than a year back have increasingly been bonding over cricket and babies. “Raveena has been doling out a lot of mommy tips to the pregnant Shilpa. Also she and Shilpa’s hubby Raj Kundra have been regularly tweeting each other over cricket. Looking at them, it would be hard to fathom that they were once erstwhile rivals,” adds the source.
