Designer Gaurav Gupta intersperses modern art with fashion at his new store

Experience `Paradigm Shift' as renowned couturier Gaurav Gupta celebrates the opening of his first store in Mumbai at Kala Ghoda, Fort. A favourite of the stars, Gaurav has been worn on the red carpet by the super-glamorous Hofit Golan at Cannes, Lady Victoria Hervey at the Golden Globes, and Bollywood favourites Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin. Fantasy has always remained the core of the stories that Gaurav narrates. His first store in Mumbai is a space that amalgamates fashion with magic realism and extreme fantasy . His stores have always been a strong representation of his vision for sculpted spaces and are born out of the duality of his collections for his prêt and couture lines.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his brand, Delhi Art Gallery will also welcome Gaurav's Paradigm Shift, a special co-curated exhibit, from November 28 to December 2 (from 11 am to 7.30 pm, except Sunday) on art and fashion. His 10-year journey as a prominent voice in the field of fashion will be positioned against 100 years of images fashioned by India's leading masters that examine the mutability between these two genres. The exhibit will bring alive the iconic moments and journey of the brand and explore one of the least documented elements in the study of Indian modern art -the role of fashion.
As the celebrations come alive, Gaurav also unveils his first ever campaign with his muse Kalki. In his words, “Kalki is fantastical. She embodies mystery , womanhood and a childlike quality . She is a progressive artist in every way and that shows in the different expressions of her creativity -from theatre to philanthropy , cinema and fashion.“
