Besides being a winning com
bination as a filmmaker actor, Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan have also
delivered evergreen soundtracks with their blockbusters Maine Pyar Kiya
(1989), Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994) and Hum Saath-Saath Hain (1999).
Their latest collaboration, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP), brings back the
memories of their enduring and melodious music. This family
entertainer, which opens in cinemas this Diwali, sees the novel pairing
of Salman and
Sonam Kapoor. Its title track treats viewers to the grandeur and magic
associated with Rajshri Productions. The track has Sonam dressed in
traditional attire performing a classical dance. Says Sooraj, “The song
is special to me.It is our homage to the Meerabai bhajan Ram Ratan Dhan
Payo. It is beautifully written by Irshad Kamil and melodiously composed
by Himesh Reshammiya.“
PRDP not only marks the reunion of Sooraj and Salman after 16 years, but also sees the superstar play Prem, his most loved character.Featuring a huge ensemble cast that includes Armaan Kohli, Anupam Kher, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Swara Bhaskar besides the lead pair Salman and Sonam, the forthcoming Diwali release is the quintessential family movie. The trailer of the film is credited with making history, as it garnered over five million hits within a day of its launch.
