The senior actor has now toppled hottie Priyanka Chopra as the B’wood celeb with the most number of Twitter followers

At 69 years of age, actor Amitabh Bachchan has emerged as the highest followed celebrity among Bollywood actors, toppling actor Priyanka Chopra who has been ruling the Twitter space for at least the last six months. The topple comes in the wake of the fact that PC has not been ‘visible’ for most of the year and has not been able to deliver a hit film this year (Don 2 is yet to be christened a hit). Another curious development has come in the form of actor Shah Rukh Khan steadily slipping down the ladder and being forced to be content with the fourth position. “Another part of the online popularity definitely stems from the fact that Bachchan has been constantly blogging. No one would believe it, but he has been blogging non-stop without a single day’s break for the past 1,350 days. Now that’s something that nobody has been able to match,” says an actor close to the Bachchan family. Actor Salman Khan is also fast gaining ground and is the most likely competitor on Twitter, because he has been steadily increasing his followers at a rate of 150 every 10-14 days on an average, which is more than anybody else on Twitter.
