Judwaa
‘Why have just one Salman
Khan when you can have two?’
seemed to be the mantra of this
film. Khan plays twins who are
separated by birth but ‘feel’
each other. So when one of
them is fighting/ kissing/eating,
the other does the same,
leading to hilarious
consequences. As expected,
one of the twins is a chalu
character with a heart of gold
while the other is a timid,
innocent guy.

Aankhen
In Aankhen, Govinda plays a
double role. Bunnu (Govinda)
and Munnu (Chunky Pandey)
are the good for nothing sons of
Kader Khan who kicks them out
of home when he realises they
lied about their college grades.
One of their practical jokes gets
out of hand and Bunnu disappears,
presumed dead. Meanwhile
his identical cousin Gaurishankar
arrives in town and is
mistaken for Bunnu leading to
the usual hilarious confusion.

Raja Babu
One of David Dhawan’s corniest
comedies, Raja Babu has Govinda
essaying the lead of a poor
orphan adopted by a wealthy
village couple (Kader Khan and
Aruna Irani) who falls for the
well-educated Madhu (Karishma
Kapoor). The complications
in their love story leading to the
happy ending make up the rest
of the movie. Govinda is a treat
as the spoilt village bumpkin
and his chemistry with his sidekick
Nandu (Shakti Kapoor) is
the best part of the film.

Coolie no 1
Govinda is a coolie but pretends
to be the richest man in Asia. He
falls in love with Malti
(Karisma Kapoor), the only
daughter of the wealthy Hoshiyar
Chand (Kader Khan). The
lead pair fall in love and marry.
The complications arise when
Hoshiyar realises he has been
duped and vows to break up
their marriage. The movie is lit
up by hilarious scenes between
Govinda and Shakti Kapoor, who
share a crackling on-screen
chemistry.

hapless dad (Kader Khan). As
punishment, he decides to separate
them. Sonu is sent to Goa
and Monu has to start attending
office. They both fall in love
with the sisters Ritu (Karisma
Kapoor) and Puja (Pooja Batra).
Sonu calls Monu to Goa, disguised
as his uncle to fix his
and Pooja’s marriage but things
don’t work out as planned.
