TV watchdog’s drive against ‘indecent portrayal’ of women on small screen

The Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC) is planning to host a sensitisation session in Mumbai next month — with the creative/content teams of various channels and networks — to discuss women-related issues on television. The issues include “stereotyping of women, their indecent representation and all kinds of violence against them”. In a recent meeting, it was discussed that the channels should comply with the council’s advisory on the issue. BCCC chairperson Justice (retired) AP Shah will chair the meeting .
