MMK COLLEGE Fresh Face 2012

Energetic and Enthusiastic!

Presenting performances packed with passion and talent, the students of MMK and St Andrews College came out with flying colours at Clean & Clear Bombay Times Fresh Face 2012

MMK COLLEGE
Actress Mugdha Godse was greeted with a thunderous applause when she walked in to judge the Clean & Clear Bombay Times Fresh Face 2012 contest on Monday at MMK College, Bandra. RJ Prackriti was the other judge at the event.
Jhatalika Malhotra and Divesh Gidwani were declared the winners, while Tanya Sharma and Rishabh Punjabi were the first runners-up. Jhatalika impressed the
judges with her neat ramp-walk and made no bones about her ambition — to be a top model. Runner-up Tanya Sharma’s dancing skills left the judges spellbound. Tanya confessed to being self-obsessed, but at the same time, prided herself in being a giver rather than a taker. Contestant Divesh Gidwani showcased his uncanny gift of the gab — he could make a story out of anything and everything and that had the judges break into laughter. Runner-up Rishabh Punjabi’s dimples bowled the judges over. Rishabh said he has handled even untoward situations with a smile.

ST ANDREWS COLLEGE
When not a single girl appeared on stage, even after 10 boys had showcased their talents in the Clean and Clear Bombay Times Fresh Face 2012, one wondered where the female students at St Andrews College in Bandra were. But when they finally took the stage, there was no stopping them.
The highlight of the contest was the Gangnam-style dance by Valerian D’Costa and four others, who were joined by the celebrity judge, actress Sonal Chauhan.
The winner among the girls, Divya Saini, came out strongly against a politician who didn’t want girls to use cellphones. “How stupid is that? If a girl is in trouble, what would
she do?” she asked. Divya, who aspires to be a DJ and model, also walked the ramp with a lot of confidence. The winner among the boys, Drayson Mascarenhas, glided gracefully onto the stage when his name was announced. Inspired by Michael Jackson, he grooved with remarkable ease. First runner-up Kevin Pereira said his most memorable moment was hugging a girl on the campus. So, where is the girl now? “She passed out.” “Watch your words, complete the sentence. You mean she has passed out from the college or did she pass out after hugging you?” asked Radio Mirchi RJ Suren, leading to a lot of laughter. For the first runners-up title among girls, there was a tie between Anushka Songaonkar and Charmaine Sequeira. — Seema Sinha
