Monica Bellucci special guest, Amitabh Bachchan to be honoured at Marrakech Film Festival
The Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco will host a tribute ceremony in honour of the Indian cinema centenary year on December 1. Along with the Indian delegation, the event will have Italian actress Monica Bellucci as one of the special guests.
Says a source, “There will be a special red carpet for the Indian delegation and Monica will be present on stage when Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured.” Sharmila Tagore, who has been chosen as a jury member at the festival, will also be present. A number of Hindi films will be screened throughout the week, including one every night, at the openair screenings on the famous Jemaa El Fna Square. Anumber of Bollywood stars and filmmakers will present their films to the Moroccan audience. Films to be screened at the festival will include those starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Rampal. A special screening of Yash Chopra’s last film will also be held to pay tribute to the late director.
