Live performances, a cutting-edge tunnel entrance, exotic cocktails, delicious food, grandeur and glamour marked the Golden Jubilee celebration of Sun-n-Sand — Mumbai’s first beachfront five-star hotel commissioned on November 26, 1962. Patrons from various fields were present for the celebration that marked the hotel’s 50 glorious years of hospitality. The ocean-front hotel with 120 rooms and art deco five-star property has also established its flagship across India at Shirdi, Pune and Nagpur. Gulshan Arora, senior vice president, Sun-n-Sand Hotels, said, “This has been a long journey for us and I would like to congratulate our employees and patrons who have helped us achieve this milestone. We welcomed the 50th year with a grand party at our Mumbai property along with loads of special offers across all our other properties in India.” A LED tunnel entrance to the newly launched bar, Beachcomber Bar and Lounge located at the lobby level of the hotel, was created for this party. Gul Advani, Chairman and Rajesh Advani, Managing Director, from Sun-n-Sand ensured that the guests were taken care of. Guests enjoyed a laser show, performance by a talented harpist and a grand finale by the santoor maestro Rahul Sharma. Prem Chopra, Randhir Kapoor, Ayesha Jhulka, Gayatri Joshi, Ramesh Sippy with wife Kiran Juneja and Nandita Das were among the guests seen here.
