It’s high time women put their health on top priority
Organised by India’s leading women’s website iDiva.com, The Heroes Project, a breast cancer awareness initiative saw the venue awash in pink; the pink ribbon being an international symbol of breast cancer awareness. Breast cancer survivor Deveika Bhojwani, oncologist Dr Vikas Ostwal, radiology oncologist Dr Rakesh
Jalali, gynaecologist Dr Kiran Coelho, trichologist Dr Apoorva Shah and fitness expert Mickey Mehta were part of the panel of speakers in an open session on breast cancer and how to overcome and survive it. The panelists and guests present stressed that it was important
that women took better care of themselves and put their health on top priority. Through iDiva.com’s ‘Nominate A Breast Cancer Hero’ campaign, 15 survivors were selected from Mumbai and another 10 from across the country to be felicitated at this event. Guests of honour, Gul Panag and Tisca Chopra gave away special mementoes to the proud survivors. Proceeds from the auction of a painting by Suchitra Krishnamoorti
and a gown by
Aarti Vijay Gupta will go to the Women’s Cancer Initiative, Tata Memorial Hospital. Also here was Sona Mohapatra.
