From page 1 Multi-city tours are a common way to promote upcoming films, but Prabhudheva and choreographer-turneddirector Remo D’Souza are taking this initiative a step further. The duo and the rest of the cast of their new film ABCD — Any Body Can Dance will be embark on an eight-state, 16-city tour to promote the film with a twist — a source close to the production house tells us that the duo will now be dancing for a very special cause. “Remo and Prabhu are planning to revive fading folk dance forms from some of the states. They will be putting up a performance at each place based on the local dance form,” says the source.
The tour that kick-starts next year, will see all the dancers from
the film performing on stage. The source adds, “Their intention is to
spread the message that there are certain dance forms which everyone may
not know of and are dying out. They want to revive them and want people
to learn them as well.”
The movie is directed by Remo D’Souza and is produced by UTV Motion Pictures. Shikha Kapur, executive director, marketing, Studios, DisneyUTV, confirms the news saying, “City visits (for movie promotions) are no longer about visiting malls. They are now about engaging audiences through activity-led experiences. Since ABCD is about dancing, something that everybody loves, the city visits will naturally see the cast along with Prabhudheva and Remo interact with audiences through dance. But what we will look at doing differently is using a dance form that is popular in that region.”
