Producer will soon announce three more laugh riots, wants to explore the genre further
■After the success of her recent production Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, Ekta Kapoor is hoping to carry forward her winning streak. The producer is set to announce three more comedies. She believes that the genre has given her a lot of success and wants to work extensively on various subjects.
Ekta says, “I started off with the TV show Hum Paanch, which was a comedy. And then when I did Kya Kool Hain Hum (2005), I got a response for it. Now Kya Super Kool Hain Hum has done well too. So, I want to venture more into this genre. If you think about it, it’s a smart formula and audiences instantly like such films.”
Ask her if all three films will be adult comedies, she says, “No.
The first one will be an adult comedy. The second will be a supernatural
comedy which will be followed by an urban comedy.”
One of the films, though, is called Hum Aapke Hain Porn. Why such a title? Ekta laughs, “It’s a working title. We may not even go ahead with it. But it’s apt for the kind of story we’re working on.” Ask her about the official announcement on these films and Ekta says, “We’re still in the process of developing the script. I’ve talked to a few actors and some have also asked me to work on such films with them. But there’s nothing concrete as of now. It’ll take some time before a formal announcement on the films and the cast, but I’ll announce the directors soon. This is
what you can expect from me as of now.”
