It’s a ‘sheer’ failure for Kristen Stewart

If wearing daring clothes (read sheer) is an indicator of coming into your own, then Kristen Stewart certainly seems to be making that statement loud and clear. But, is the style working for her? The reactions seem divided. In the two months following a much publicised break-up with teen heartthrob Robert Pattinson and the subsequent efforts to win him back, K-Stew seems to have embraced ‘daring’ fashion with a vengeance. Starting with the multicity premieres of her latest Twilight film, we saw her cling to sheer like it clung to her. Despite her in-your-face efforts to take sartorial risks, fashion’s high priests have blown both hot and cold in response to her.
During her post-cheating scandal timeline, we have seen Kristen wear a
sheer black jumpsuit, a sheer floral sheath, a nude-coloured gown with a lace skirt and sheer panels, and a see-through white top paired with a black bra and plaid trousers. Most recently, she was spotted at a screening in the US, wearing satin innerwear and a sheer embroidered dress on top. Did any of those work for her? Certainly not the latest one — she was at the receiving end of much grief for wearing crumpled satin innerwear with what could have been turned into an edgy appearance with the right kind of styling and attention.
While sheer is certainly not an easy style to flaunt, K-Stew seems intent on making it work for her. Just one piece of advice: steaming the clothes helps every single time!
