After celeb couples it’s mother-daughter jodis in ads

    Celeb couples in television commercials is not new. Shah Rukh-Gauri, Saif-Kareena, Ajay-Kajol, Akshay-Twinkle, Mahendra Singh Dhoni-Sakshi have been doing it for a while now. But what’s interesting is the mother-daughter jodi ads these days.
    The latest is Sonakshi and her mother Punam Sinha, who’ve done a beauty product ad together. This trend started with Hema Malini and her daughters Esha and Ahana doing a commercial, followed by Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Sahni endorsing a jewellery brand. Sharmila Tagore and Soha Ali Khan too have done a similar ad.
    The audiences love the sweet chemistry that these pairs share and for the makers it becomes that much easier — now, it’s only about translating real life emotions to reel.
    Agnello Dias, creative director, says, “Mother-daughter endorsements may enjoy a higher degree of credibility in consumers’ minds because the brand is seeming endorsed by a celebrity ‘relationship’ and not merely by a figurehead. It also makes for more endearing interaction because a part of the personal side crosses over to the professional face of celebritydom.”
