Now a new show that will decode criminal minds
It is time for some spine-chilling crime stories on the small screen with the new investigative series, Shaitaan — A Criminal Mind. The show, a documentary of real-life criminal cases, will see anchor Sharad Kelkar decode criminal minds.
The real-life incidents to be shown will include everything from kidnapping to extortion, domestic abuse to marital rape and juvenile crimes to serial killings, all backed by a research team, psychologists and psychiatrists. Some famous cases to be aired are: a gang of taxi drivers killing 250 people and a man killing his wife and keeping her body in a refrigerator for five years. In the show, Sharad tries to understand the mindset of a criminal, what motivated him/her to commit a crime and the related circumstances by recreating the same environment.
Says Sharad, “Everyday we wake up to shocking realities of life. Stories of how an educated software engineer murdered his wife or how a watchman raped a tenant in the wee hours of the night... someone you trust can suddenly turn into a devil. We need to be aware and know what is happening around us. I am more interested in knowing about the criminal’s past and his mindset. Is it a habit or a disease?”
Shaitaan — A Criminal Mind premieres tonight and will be aired every Saturday and Sunday, 10 pm, on Colors.
