TOIFA’S MEMORABLE MOMENTS
A recap of some special moments that made the maiden edition of Lux Cozi TOIFA an unforgettable experience
British Columbia will certainly not forget the first edition of Lux Cozi TOIFA. Not only did the country witness a grand Bollywood experience, it also shared some poignant moments with its favourite stars. During the main awards night, many in the audience became emotional when Priyanka Chopra’s father Dr Ashok Chopra accepted the best actress award on her behalf. PC’s father had travelled for over 30 hours to be with her and as she wiped tears of joy, her father, who passed away in Mumbai recently, thanked the world for loving his daughter.
And then there was Shah Rukh Khan, who sweated it out all night to ensure he mastered his moves. He started practising his act the same evening he landed and rehearsed till 6 the next morning (the day of his performance). All that despite a painful shoulder injury. His fans stood in the cold to catch a glimpse of the actor and he met them all. Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan also didn’t disappoint their local fans as they strolled around BC on the first day to meet them.
There were many special moments during the awards night, like the time Ranbir accepted the award for best actor in a negative role on behalf of father Rishi Kapoor. When he accepted his own award for best actor, he blew kisses to the entire crowd, while chanting ‘I love you, I love you’. Of course, the audience reciprocated with the same love and fervour! Deepika Padukone, who won the best actor female (critics choice), couldn’t make it due to a shoot back home, but sent a message that she missed all the action at the event. Well, she was certainly missed too!
