HOPE FLOATS FOR ACTOR AJAZ KHAN
Actor Ajaz Khan, whose film Lakeer Ka Fakeer releases today, hopes that the film will mark a turning point in his Bollywood career. He says that while many films are being made today, only those starring top actors release. “Films with newcomers are either canned or vanish without a trace,” he points out, and enthusiastically adds, “The fact that my film is releasing is an achievement — irrespective of its fate at the box office.”
About his character, Ajaz says, “My character, Fakeer Mohammed Khan is a good son and a loyal friend, who aspires to make it big in life. And just when everything seems to go right, reality hits him. Fakeer is born and brought up in an area notorious for gangsters and that turns his world upside down. People refuse to employ him and he is even denied a passport. This turns him into a rebel.”
Positive feedback from friends like Ram Gopal Varma, Ram Charan Teja, Mahesh Babu and Sonu Sood — they have watched the promos — has boosted Ajaz’s morale. “They felt that the film had a certain degree of rawness and would get me noticed. At the moment, I have butterflies in my stomach. But I am also feeling excited,” he concludes.
