Why Ajay never made it for his date with Suriya

    In what could have been a perfect culmination of North meeting South, Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn was meant to be present at the music launch of Tamil heartthrob Suriya’s latest film in Chennai on June 2. But the weather gods played spoilsport. Ajay and filmmaker Rohit Shetty took a charter from Mumbai, but couldn’t land in Chennai because of bad weather. Instead, it was suggested that they land in Bangalore and drive down to Chennai. However, that didn’t happen too. In his concern for his personal guests — Ajay and Rohit — Suriya organised another aircraft, a Falcon, to bring his guests to Chennai from Bangalore. But sources say even the Falcon wasn’t of any help. After circling in the air for eight hours, Rohit and his hero, who were meant to return home, landed in Ahmedabad instead. The plane had almost run out of fuel. Rohit was overheard saying, “Jaana tha Japan pahunch gaye Cheen (We were meant to go to Japan, but landed in China instead).”
    When we checked last, Ajay and Rohit had spent a night at a five-star hotel in Ahmedabad and flew back to Mumbai on June 3. And the first phone call they received was from Suriya, checking if they had reached home safe.
