New producer on board for Rajini’s film

The much-awaited Kochadaiyaan, starring South superstar Rajinikanth and Deepika Padukone, has a new producer on board — Prashita Chaudhary.
The film, directed by the superstar’s daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, will be made in 3D using performance capture technology (championed by James Cameron in Avatar).
“I believe cinema to be a barrier-breaking medium. Besides supporting new creative minds in world cinema, I want to be part of big films like Kochadaiyaan, which use technology and stardom to take Indian cinema to the next level,”
says the young producer.
Prashita was recently in the news for backing films like Danis Tanovic’s next with Emraan Hashmi and Ari Folman’s Congress, which opened the Director’s Fortnight at Cannes. She has also joined hands with renowned Hollywood producer Edward Pressman for the film, The Man Who Knew Infinity: A Life of the Genius Ramanujan.
Soundarya is excited to have Prashita on board. “With performance capture technology, we are trying to gift the audience something new. And to have someone like-minded like Prashita as one of the producers is really reassuring,” she says.
