Sunny Deol locks horns with sumo wrestlers and ninjas

He has always been synonymous with action, but in Sangeeth Sivan’s Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, Sunny Deol will be seen fighting it out with sumo wrestlers and ninjas. While the wrestlers were flown from Australia, Japan and the US, the ninjas came from France and the UK.
Says Sunny, “Keeping the size of sumo wrestlers in mind, we had to make special arrangements for them. As for the ninjas, we flew down only those who were masters at the kind of action we wanted. Our coordinator Peter Heinz took care of it.”
Unlike previous sequences, Sunny’s fight scenes in this film have comic elements. He explains, “This is not a story of vendetta. So the action, though serious, is also funny. Both adults and children will be enjoy it.” Asked if he had to go
through any special training, the actor says, “I have always been a sportsperson and never trained for anything. Even during my first film, where I had to ride a horse, I just hopped on its back and took care not to fall. At the end of the day, we are actors and we have to be good at everything. The only thing I have had to work hard on is my dancing (laughs).”
Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, produced by Sunny Sounds Pvt Ltd and YPD Films Ltd UK, releases June 7.
