‘I like Preity Zinta’ ...says Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds as he talks about his favourite actor in B-town

It seems like this season, Bigg Boss’s fixation for international celebs is growing with each passing day. First with international adult model Sunny Leone making an entry and now it’s Aussie cricketer Andrew Symonds, who’s infamous for calling Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh a monkey during a cricket match. However, this time, Andrew will be seen batting on a new pitch as he is donning a new hat of a contestant in the reality show. Though Symonds doesn’t know Hindi, he is confident that audiences will love to watch him as a contestant.”I decided to do the show as it is something new and a challenge than what I do otherwise – play cricket. Also for almost two decades I have been coming to India and I really like being here, learning more about the rich heritage and cultural values. Also being locked up with strangers without any mode of communication with the world outside is pretty interesting. Though I haven’t watched the show I plan to have loads of fun as long as I am inside.” Ask him about Bollywood films and he quickly adds, “I love to watch the colourful spectacle, the song and dance sequences. It’s fun and entertaining but I can’t understand Hindi.” But just like Sunny if Andrew is offered a Hindi film will he take it up?”I don’t know but if they want me to dance then its going to be a big problem for them to teach me dancing. I have met these actors and they are too good at it. I like Preity Zinta. I’ve met her and we have spoken about cricket and she is super talented and a fun person,” adds Andrew. But how does he plan to deal with tense situations inside the house as usage of foul language can get him out of the show. He replies, “Yes, I do know what you are hinting at. As sportsmen, sometimes in the heat of the moment, we get agressive and what happened between me and Bhajji, is already sorted. Like any other Australian guy I will enjoy and be calm and composed. I will just be Andrew Symonds, the person I am and not a cricketer or celebrity in there.” k

Andrew’s translator Andrew Symonds’s biggest challenge once he enters the house will be breaking the language barrier as he isn’t well versed with Hindi. To tackle this issue, Andrew will be gifted his very own translator inside. But it isn’t a professional translator, rather the evicted contestant Pooja Misrra who had been asked to leave the show owing to aggressive and violent behavior against a fellow contestant.
