Actor Lara Dutta Bhupathi almost gave her husband Mahesh Bhupathi’s match at the Olympics a miss because she didn’t get any tickets

After all that has been written about Olympic participants not getting tickets for their family members, the latest is that of tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi not being able to get tickets for wife, Lara Dutta. The couple, who is currently in London at the Summer Olympics attended the opening ceremony together. Lara accompanies Mahesh to important tournaments and since this one was one of the most prestigious ones, she decided to be with him for moral support.
While most participants have been denied passes for family members, Mahesh took Lara along and decided that he would buy tickets for her to watch his opening match on Sunday. But he faced a strange problem. While the stadium was half empty, he couldn’t get a single ticket for Lara to watch the match live. A source said, “Mahesh was keen that Lara be present for his opening match so he wanted to buy tickets for her. But despite trying hard to get tickets, he couldn’t find a single one. It was a major let down for him because he wanted Lara to be present in the audience when he was playing.”
Expressing his disappointment, he took to Twitter, as he posted, “Been trying for 6 hours now to buy my wife a ticket to watch me play tomorrow. Still no luck, and the grounds here feel empty. ABSURD!!!” Fortunately, his match was delayed because of the rain that disrupted play.
