Salma advises caution before marriage
Salma Hayek has advised women to think carefully before accepting a marriage proposal from a man. “I had men ask me to marry them and I would say things like, ‘But you are totally wrong for me — we fight every day’,” a publication quoted the actress as saying. “And I would point out that I did not have a career. A career of my own was something my mother always encouraged,” she added. The Mexican-born actress, who stars in the new movie Here Comes The Boom, also credits her mother for making her dreams come true. “My mother, Diane, taught me to dream big. She had to put aside her own dreams. She wanted to become a singer, but it was looked down upon. She told herself she was not good enough, so married and had children. She did not want that kind of a thing to happen to me so young and always encouraged me to make the most of opportunities. She also taught me to enjoy food and to cook — with joy and pleasure,” she said. “I want as good a relationship with my daughter as I have with my mother,” added Salma. She is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault and has five year-old daughter, Valentina with him.
