Actor Vidya Balan is being hotly pursued to star opposite actor John Abraham with whom she had been linked in the past
It was in 2007 that actors Vidya Balan and John Abraham came together on screen in Salaam-E-Ishq. While it was being filmed, strong rumours of an affair between Vidya and John started doing the rounds. John was dating actor Bipasha Basu back then and obviously things got a little ugly on the personal front for him. The rumour ran its course and died down. But that was the first and the last time that the two were paired opposite each other.
Director Priyadarshan had also attempted to bring them together for a comic caper in 2010, but all attempts fell through. According to a source, he was very keen on casting them and also apparently had a couple of meetings with Vidya regarding the same. But it was reported that John had refused this and several other films with Vidya on Bipasha's insistence. However, now the two may soon be seen together on screen again. The source adds, "Now that John is single, he does not have to worry about working with any actress. He has signed up for (filmmaker) Sanjay Gupta's Shootout in Wadala for which the director is trying hard to rope in Vidya."
Apparently the director has already had a couple of meetings with Vidya and she too is keen to sign on the dotted line. A source close to the filmmaker reveals, "Sanjay is very keen on having Vidya as she is the only person he has in mind for the role and he will try and convince her as much as he can to get her on board."
After rumours of their alleged affair surfaced, Vidya and John had stopped working with each other, so getting them together will be a big deal. The source adds, "Also it's been a while since they both have spoken to each other, but now since they share the same publicist, things are being worked out between them. If all goes well, Vidya and John will soon be having a casual meeting to sort out their differences and see if things can be worked out between them." But now we wonder if the tables have turned because Vidya is rumoured to be seeing biz honcho Siddharth Roy Kapoor and John is currently single after his break-up with Bipasha. Will sparks fly?
