Giant Psy snowman goes Gangnam Style in China

The world just can’t get enough of Psy’s Gangnam Style. In fact, after many celebs dancing to his tunes, now the iconic dance step has been replicated in the form of a snow figurine. A giant snowman has gone Gangnam Style after a 20 feettall ice sculpture of K-Pop rapper Psy was unveiled in China. The South Korean singer-songwriter, who conquered the globe in 2012 with his catchy hit became a huge sensation on the internet. The snowman is located in the city of Harbin in north-east China where a tribute concert for the global sensation was held over Christmas. The sculpture, which features Psy’s signature horse-riding dance move and black sunglasses, even
received the rapper’s seal of approval. ‘Psy always have a reason to look up photos,’ he tweeted. ‘In Harbin, China, there is a Psy snowman.’ It has been an incredible year for the 34-year-old, with Gangnam Style becoming the most watched video in internet history and the first to rack up more than one billion hits. Gangnam Style has also featured in almost every end-of-year review, recently being named one of the words of 2012. The video has spawned a series of parodies, including efforts from the Oxford Union, the Crystal Palace cheerleaders and UN chief Ban Kimoon. Looks like the Gangnam fever will continue to rage on even in 2013.
