PANDORA’S BOX — AEROSMITH SONY MUSIC

PANDORA’S BOX — AEROSMITH SONY MUSIC; 2631 Rock: Let me just start off by saying that if you’re an Aerosmith fan, or if you’re feeling generous and want to make an Aerosmith fan you know a really happy camper, this grab-bag of tunes has almost everything you'd come to expect from a career-encompassing set — big hits, demos, rarities, live material, key album tracks, and a booklet packed with glossy photos of the band's best big hair days, a bio, and the bandmembers’ recollections about the stories behind all the tracks. For many who associate Aerosmith with the hip-hop flavoured hits of the late 80s and the hits of the 90s, this one doesn't contain songs from that era. Instead, the spotlight is on their 70s sound when they were without a doubt at their youthful, exuberant, rocking and energetic best. Accordingly, you get everything from their debut album to 1982’s Rock In A Hard Place. There is the stadium rock anthem Dream On and Sweet Emotion, which even the casual listener will be familiar with. But there’s also the tasty addition of some of the rarer cuts that will surely please you if you’re a hardcore fan. There’s the swingin’ Rattlesnake Shake, On The Road Again, Movin’ Out, live versions of Write Me a Letter, I Wanna Know Why and so on. Furthermore, the addition of No Surprize, Three Mile Smile, Lick And A Promise, No More No More and Seasons of Wither are way cooler than the hits. Go for it.
