The 4th annual Mumbai Wine Tasting Fest offers much more than a plethora of wines from across the globe…


Usher in the first weekend of the New Year with high spirits at the Mumbai Wine Tasting Festival. Supported by Incredible India and Maharashtra Tourism, along with The Indian Grape Processing Board, All India Wine Academy and Terrior One, the event has a lot in store. Besides giving people a chance to interact with sommeliers and wine producers, the festival also includes cheese tasting, gourmet food, music, entertainment, discounts on wine, exciting competitions, prizes and vineyard visits. Other activities are grape stomping, sangria workshops, salsa workshops and night lantern lighting.
“This year the festival is bigger - more than 10 Indian wineries are participating. Also, international wineries from Australia, Italy, South Africa, the US, etc would be present,” says festival director and co-ordinator Pratap Arora.
A few of the wineries will also launch their flavours. “For instance, Revilo will launch Merlot, Turning Point will introduce a new brand JLT (Just Like That), many boutique wineries (under the banner of the All India Wine Producer’s Association, will offer wines for tasting and purchase for the first time. Jaccob’s Creek from Australia and Sparking Wines from Italy will also be there. Wines from Portugal and Chile will be presented for the first time,” says Pratap.
The popularity of wine has increased lately with a rise in the number of Mumbaikars taking to the drink.
