Over six hundred guitarists gather in remembrance of Delhi gangrape victim
Musicians played John Lennon’s song Imagine in a memorial tribute to the 23-year old Delhi gangrape victim, during a mass guitar ensemble played by some 600 guitarists in Darjeeling on Thursday. Since the December 16 assault on the girl and her subsequent death a fortnight later, protesters have gathered daily in cities across the country, demanding that the government and police decide on tougher penalties for offenders. A group of men gangraped and brutalised the 23-year-old student on a moving bus in the capital in a deadly crime that repulsed the nation. Since the incident, various artistes have also penned tributes to the girl.
