Murs slides into pop powerhouse Maroon 5 territory with lead single Troublemaker that has a catchy melody and funky hooks. The inspiration continues with the soul-funk bassline of Hey You Beautiful. His next muse is Cornershop; the addictive guitar line of What a Buzzis reminiscent of their retro hit Brimful of Asha. Army of Two is a brass-pomping anthem that could well be the next We Are Young. Title track Right Place Right Time blends easy-on-the-ear piano riffs with roomy beats. The best tracks on the album are the ones Murs co-wrote with Ed Drewett — for instance, the bells-and-chimes-assisted Dear Darlin’ is heartfelt and emotional. Right Place Right Time has a sunny appeal that goes beyond teenyboppers.
