The actor is upset that somebody connected with her upcoming film may have played a prank on her by tweeting rumours of her getting married

It seems that actor Vidya Balan became a victim of a vicious publicity campaign when a false 'news plug' about her marriage was circulated without her knowledge. Vidya, who was shooting in Ramoji Rao film city in Hyderabad, didn't have any clue about what was happening till a friend went up to her and told her about it. According to the false alarm, Vidya had got married to her neighbour and reported beau, Siddharth Roy Kapoor. "I had no clue about it (the rumour), I was busy shooting. Nothing about that rumour was true. I didn't know who decided to circulate such false news about me. I had to issue a statement to clarify the rumour," says a clueless Vidya. According to sources, it was later found out that an overzealous team member of the unit of her forthcoming film asked his friend to post a message on Twitter that soon got re-tweeted and went viral on the internet. Soon the websites were abuzz with stories about Vidya's marriage. The actor chose not to react till the point it went on television. Sources say there was a harried call from her Siddharth also. "I am not shooting any wedding album at the moment. I am too busy shooting Dirty Picture," Vidya said in her statement she issued through her publicist. But the incident was enough for the actor to press the panic button about pranksters who are playing with her image. "The false alarm created a lot of damage and we are trying to find out where it came from. Vidya is too hurt after the incident and she has decided not to clarify anything anymore," says a source. Apparently, Vidya will have a meeting soon with the filmmakers to stop this kind of publicity stunt to promote the film.
