WHAT CHOKED FREIDA?
Actor Freida Pinto was apparently choking while filming her upcoming Hollywood production. According to a close friend of hers, even though the actor was finding it very difficult to breathe she didn’t dare to inform her director Tarsem Singh. According to the source, the costume that she had to fit herself into was the primary reason. “Freida was wearing the girdle style costume which was so tight that she found it difficult to breathe whilst in it,” says the source. But unfortunately, the director was going on shouting on the microphone for Freida to close her mouth. “She was unknowingly taking deep gasps to compensate for the lack of air when Tarsem shouted over the mike asking her to close her mouth. He wanted her to have minimal movements and had no idea that she couldn’t breathe…” the source adds. But when the director found out, she was immediately given an altered costume. And Freida literally heaved a sigh of relief! The film, which also stars Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and Stephan Dorff, will see Freida playing an oracle priestess called Phaedra. Because she was supposed to remain ‘detached’ from the world, the director also asked her to ‘switch off’ as much as possible from the world (phones, internet). “She had to downplay her body language and facial movements showing emotion only through her eyes. She worked hard to ensure that she was Zen at all times,” the source adds.
