Work may be threatening to keep several B-Towners busy this Diwali, but the festival won't be a lack-lustre affair in Bollywood, if the plans to celebrate it are anything to go by. Plans to hold lavish Diwali bashes are already being chalked out by many Tinselvillites, while the others are planning their wardrobe to attend those looking their festive best. Buzz is that actor Shah Rukh Khan has been planning a grand afterparty and a Diwali bash post the premiere of his upcoming film in London, with several of his Bolly friends in attendance.
Actor Hrithik Roshan, who's planning to whisk his wife Susanne and kids off for a mini-break, may not be hosting as big a bash, but a get-together is certainly on the 'cards'. Filmmaker Ekta Kapoor on the other hand is apparently gearing up for her annual big Diwali party, as is filmmaker Sanjay Gupta. Others who too are planning to keep a Diwali bash are producer-director Subhash Ghai and actor Shilpa Shetty. Sanjay Dutt and wife Manayata too may celebrate their twins' first Diwali in a grand way. According to sources, actor Akshay Kumar too will be hosting his annual Diwali party, though it's not clear yet if this time around he will host it in London or his Juhu residence, since he and his family are at present in the UK, while for the Bachchans, it will apparently be a dinner party at home.
"It has been a rather busy year for Bollywood. Most of the actors have been shooting round-the-clock, so many would want to make the most of this break by taking mini-breaks themselves with families. But those here or in London will definitely be attending the bashes hosted by their peers. Also this year Bollywood has lost several big names this year, so many might even cancel their parties this time," reveals an industry insider. Another points out, "Diwali is always a grand affair in Bollywood. So even if there won't be as many big bashes here in the city, there will be enough get-togethers to keep them all busy."
Actor Chunkey Pandey, who's quite a party regular says, "This year I don't know as yet where I will head to because most of the parties that happen with us are impromptu."
